After the announcements, Mrs. Smith surprised us with, NO SAT EXERCISES THIS WEEK! Instead, we are in groups, creating a Wonder Woman country style theme song that contains our fifteen vocab words, from unit 6. Our groups have to have the best costumes, song, and performance to win on of Mrs. Smith's homemade prizes:
- Breakfast Burritos
- French Toast Casserole
- Chili Cheese Egg Bake
- Monkey Bread
- Cinnamon Rolls
- Fudge Brownies
- Cake Brownies
- Molasses Cookies
- Ice Cream Sundaes
- VIP Cake
- Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars
Mrs. Smith then brought up topic sentences on the board.
REMEMBER: A topic sentence always contains:
- restate the question
- answer the question
- ONLY ONE SENTENCE
After this, we decided on how we wanted to grade our papers. We could have a direct one on one or just have her grade it and her return it to you and you can have the choice of having a conference or not. We then turned in our papers. That was a scary moment.
Towards the end of class, Mrs. Smith brought up her and Mr. Murphy's idea to have QR codes in the Arapahoe Library on our banned books. We will make a movie trailer using animoto (10 minutes), flix time (60 seconds), or photopeach (slideshow). You can also use IMovie or another movie making source. The movie needs to be about one minute long and have an attention getter. DUE ON HALLOWEEN! The layout for the movie can be found on Mrs. Smith's honors English 9 webpage. The proposal for the movie is due on Monday the 17th. You can check out a flip camera from the library, just talk to Mr. Murphy. You will want to use YOUR OWN SD card.
