Wednesday, October 5

After the usual greeting of “HELLO SMITH,” we got our computers and went over the homework for the day.

HOMEWORK:
-Read short story, The Pedestrian by tomorrow (click here for the link)
-Read pages 1-40 in Fahrenheit 451 by Friday
-Banned book letter due Monday
-Be ready for the discussion tomorrow of BOTH short stories (Harrison Bergeron and The Pedestrian)
-Wonder Woman song performance on Monday

After reviewing our homework, we took a short quiz about Harrison Bergeron. Then, we wrote a brief topic sentence about the story. The question for the topic sentence is on the class blog and is called “Harrison Bergeron Topic Sentence.”
Following our in class assignment, we proceeded to watch only the gruesome scenes of Macbeth, such as Macbeth’s death, the first Thane of Cawdor’s death, and Banquo’s death.
Finally, we had the remainder of class to work on our WONDER WOMAN SONGS!!!!!

IMPORTANT POINTS:
-Books that have already been taken for banned book project: In Cold Blood, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Cujo, Water for Elephants, Lolita, Slaughterhouse 5, Silence of the Lambs, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, The Hunger Games
-DON’T FORGET: There is a ONE PERSON limit to a book in each class. So, to make sure your book is reserved, you must turn in your signed letter!
