Murderous Married Couple

1. If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were stranded on a desert island, who do you think would die first and how?

2. If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth entered a pie-eating contest, who do you think would win and why?

3. If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were on a football team, what position would each play and why?

  1. If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were on an island, I think that Macbeth would die first. I think that because he's already delusional, and he doesn't do well with different kinds of situations, I think he could be easily manipulated. And when I say manipulated, I mean by Lady Macbeth. We all know she is a very sneaky woman, who knows exactly how to handle her husband and how to get under his skin. I believe that if she was hungry, he would be her food.
I think that Macbeth would win even if he got sick. Because Lady Macbeth already called him unmanly for not wanting to kill King Duncan, imagine his humiliation if he lost to her over a simple pie eating contest. Talk about manhood, if he knows how to do anything, it should be how to eat until he's bursting and I definitely think he would have the willpower to finish first.
I think Macbeth would be quarterback and Lady Macbeth would be wide receiver. Because even though they're both kind of manipulative and sneaky, and they know how to will the other to do different things, they still work together as a team. And without the wide receiver, who would the quarterback throw to? And the same goes for the wide receiver, what is there to receive when you don't have someone to throw it to you? Not to mention, Macbeth is in the spotlight, he has the attention and the eyes of everyone on him for certain deeds. And Lady Macbeth is working in the background doing much more than anyone could imagine, she may not be the leading character, but she does just as much as Macbeth.

  2. I think that Macbeth would die first because Lady Macbeth would somehow convince him that if he does not die for her then he is not a man. She would probably end up killing him anyways because of her selfish and evil ways. Maybe she would poison him with an exotic plant, or find a savage beast to attack him.
I think Macbeth would win because Lady Macbeth would not want to portray herself as unlady like by stuffing her face with pies. Lady Macbeth would also force Macbeth to win so they could receive the grand prize...a large piece of land.
I think that Lady Macbeth would be a center because she would block, snap, and some centers are responsible for coordinating and directing the efforts of the other members of the Offensive Line. So just like during the murdering of Duncan, she made sure nothing interfered with the plan, she created and started the plan. Macbeth would be a running back because they are fast which makes it harder for the defense to catch them. Because of Macbeth’s power and dedication towards Duncan, no one would suspect him of committing the crime.

  3. For me, there's no question about it on who would die first if Lady Macbeth and Macbeth were stranded on an island. I think that Macbeth would surely die first! Lady Macbeth's actions have shown that she acts on what's best for herself and kills anybody thats in her way. Macbeth on the other hand, is not very confident in himself which leads to him questioning and rethinking his every move. Macbeth would die on the island by either starving to death, or getting eaten by Lady Macbeth. As bad and gross as that sounds, you have to admit that it does sound like something she would do.
If they both were competing in a pie eating contest, I think that Macbeth would win because not to many females can beat a male in stuffing their face with pie. Even though Lady Macbeth has a mind for scheming, she still is a civilized women and no women back then would be caught dead in a contest like that. But then again, she did enter the contest.....Macbeth is obviously a man which means he also has a much larger appetite then Lady Macbeth. Even if Lady Macbeth tried to compete in the contest, she would be full by a max of two pies. Macbeth could probably eat his way through six or more!
When playing football, I think Macbeth would play quarterback and Lady Macbeth would lead the team as head coach because she can order Macbeth around and tell him what to do in order to succeed in the game without getting the attention and credit. Without a coach, Macbeth would have no idea what to do and what plays to run, but when Lady Macbeth is there in the sidelines telling him what to do she can lead them to victory.

  4. If Lady Macbeth and Macbeth were stranded on a deserted island, Macbeth would die first. First of all, he has a chivalrous nature, which means he would give all the food, water, and shelter to the lady. Also, he doesn’t have a killer’s attitude. Lady Macbeth has a stronger will to survive than Macbeth, and if that means killing him, she would do it. Throughout the play, she is the one egging Macbeth on. She has more ambition than Macbeth, and is more willing to make sacrifices. Likewise, I think that Lady Macbeth would beat Macbeth in a pie-eating contest. Again, she has more ambition, and thirst for power. She would push harder for the glory.

If Lady Macbeth and Macbeth were on a football team, Lady Macbeth would be the quarterback and Macbeth would be the receiver. Lady Macbeth is the one telling Macbeth what to do and how to do it. She is making the game plans. Macbeth however, is the one carrying out the action. He kills Duncan, and would be the one to make the touchdown.

  5. In any situation, I think that Macbeth will always be the weaker of the two. He allows himself to be swayed and influenced deeply when making his choices. Lady Macbeth for sure takes advantage of this. She is to him as an elder vampire is to their "true love", or their newly appointed sidekick who always happens to be a newborn. The vulnerable person always ends up being the host, providing whatever necessities the user wants. He would just give Lady Macbeth all of his provisions. I think that in a pie eating contest, she would also claim the winner's title. She is willing to make sacrifices, whereas he isn't. Lady Macbeth would be a quarterback, the star of the team. Macbeth would be happy to take anything he could get, even if it meant being a water boy.

  6. 1. If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were stranded on a desert island, then Macbeth would die first because he has such a good conscience that he couldn’t do anything bestial in order to survive. Lady Macbeth, on the other hand, is such a boor already that she would most likely be the first one to turn to barbaric measures in order to survive. Cannibalism is an extremity, but when no rescue comes and the two are desperate you never know.

    2. If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth entered a pie eating contest, then Macbeth would win because he seems to have the lighter personality of the two, making it easier for him to become motivated to win the contest. Lady Macbeth appears to be well-mannered, and if the pie eating contest was public I couldn’t possibly see her cramming purple pie in her mouth, spilling the liquid all over her nice clothes, beating her husband at a game not many women take part in, even today.

    3. In ratio to the story, if Lady Macbeth and Macbeth were on a football team, Macbeth would be the kicker and Lady Macbeth would be the holder because, just like the murder of Duncan, Lady Macbeth took what information came to her (like the snap of a football) and set it up for Macbeth to do as she pleased, (placing it down so he could kick it) and in the end stood watching from one knee as Macbeth went through with the plan in fine fashion. (Making the field goal)

  7. If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were stranded on an island...Well, we can be sure they probably will not live. I could relate this to Lord of the Flies. I think Macbeth would be a mixture of Piggy and Ralph. He would constantly work up schemes to get them rescued, and I believe he would die from insanity and one of those schemes. Lady Macbeth, to me, is more like Jack. She would let Macbeth attempt his crazy rescue mission, and she would try to use sources on the island to survive. And, mixed with her violent nature, she would wind up killing Macbeth in some insane cannibal act. So, to sum that up easily, Macbeth would die first.
At a pie eating contest...Lady Macbeth would also win. First, Lady Macbeth would eliminate the fat, champion eater by poisoning his pie. (Next, she would somehow kill every contestant, except Macbeth)She would not want to kill Macbeth, so she would come up with something to get him disqualified, and she would win the contest without eating that much pie.
As for the football team...I don't really know anything about football. I just know that there is a linebacker and a quarterback, but I don't know what they do. I agree with Meagan G., Lady Macbeth would be the star, and Macbeth would be happy with anything, unless Lady Macbeth began to criticize him. But, she wouldn't do that, as that would put her star position in jeopardy.
So, basically, I think Macbeth would lose in everything, because he is laughably gullible, and Lady Macbeth is freakishly evil.

  8. If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were stranded on a deserted island, I think that Macbeth would die first. Lady Macbeth would probably come up with some evil scheme or something to kill him, and then she might eat him just so she can stay alive. Because she is so selfish, she would find a way for him to die first. If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were having a pie eating contest, I think that Macbeth would win. He seems a lot bigger than Lady Macbeth, even though he crumbles to her commands, and he seems like he would be able to eat a lot of food. Lady Macbeth probably wouldn't even like the pie eating contest. She would probably stand there and act very pristine and not take part in the contest at all. She seems like she wouldn't even consider doing something like this in public. If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were on a football team, Lady Macbeth would be the center and Macbeth would be the quarterback. Lady Macbeth tells Macbeth what to do, and she initiates the plan, but Macbeth is the one who has to go through with it. The center must hike the ball to the quarterback so that the quarterback can then do his job and help his team score. The center must also block for the quarterback. Lady Macbeth must cover up or "block" for Macbeth while and after he kills the king. She must act surprised and devastated to hear that the king has been killed in her own home, when really in fact it was herself and her husband. The quarterback also takes the most responsibility for the game. Macbeth is the one who must take responsibility for killing the king, even though his wife was apart of it. That's because he committed the act. Lady Macbeth and Macbeth are very much like the center and the quarterback on a football team.

  9. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are stranded on an island and it’s obvious they are both going to die. I believe the first one to go will be Lady Macbeth. Even though Lady Macbeth could easily manipulate Macbeth; Macbeth has the strength and will to survive on his own. I do mean on HIS own because he will probably get fed up with Lady Macbeth’s dominant personality and kill her out of rage. After she’s out of the way, Macbeth will be able to provide food and shelter for quite a while.
If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth entered a pie-eating contest; Macbeth would beat his wife. Unless Lady Macbeth has some giant stomach and could eat a horse then, Macbeth will crush her. Lady Macbeth probably just cleans, feeds the animals, and sits around all day while Macbeth is out running around as a general in a war. He’s doing a lot more activities so he’s building a bigger appetite. It’s obvious that Macbeth will win a pie-eating contest against Lady Macbeth.
If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth somehow survived long enough to play on a football team Macbeth would be a wide receiver. Wide receivers are the players who score the touchdowns and get the job done. They don’t do much of the thinking; they just follow the play and get the job done. On the other hand, Lady Macbeth is the thinker and calls the actions so she best fits as a quarterback. The quarterback calls the plays and tells what players need to do what. Lady Macbeth told Macbeth to kill Duncan and he followed through, so in football they scored a touchdown but haven’t won the game. There are still people suspicious of them and Lady Macbeth will command Macbeth to take them out scoring some more touchdowns.

  10. If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were stranded on an island I think that Macbeth would die first because Lady Macbeth has the brains and state of mind as to where she could manipulate Macbeth. In her selfish ways, I don't think that she would sacrifice anything while Macbeth would to what it took to please her, and in this case, would probably end with his death.

If the two were in a pie eating contest I think that Macbeth would win. Lady Macbeth convinces Macbeth to murder Duncan. It was her idea but she never did the dirty work. I could see her telling Macbeth to keep eating but I don't think she would be the one to stuff her face with pie.

If they were on a football team, I think that Lady Macbeth would be the center and Macbeth would be a quarterback. Lady Macbeth would be there to make plans and tell the other players what to do but then the running and passing would be Macbeth's responsibility. Macbeth was the one who committed the actual murder although it was Lady Macbeth's planning, both have a big part in the game, but a lot of the blame could fall on him.

  11. 1. If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were stranded on a desert island, Macbeth would die first. Lady Macbeth would find a way to convince Macbeth to die for her so that she may live. If he refused, she would probably kill him the same way he killed Duncan. If she did not have a dagger then she would probably find a way to starve him or poison him.

    2. I think that Lady Macbeth would win because she is determined and wants to be on top. So winning would be the thing she would want to do the most.

    3. Lady Macbeth would play quarter back and Macbeth would play wide receiver. I think Lady Macbeth would play this position because they call the play. I think Macbeth would play the wide receiver because he is told were to go and carries out the play to attempt to get the touch down.

  12. 1. If Lady Macbeth and Macbeth were stranded on a desert island, Macbeth would definitely die first. People get hungry and I quite honestly think that eventually, Lady Macbeth would resort to cannibalism, seeing how deranged she is.
    2. If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were to enter a pie-eating contest, I think that through determination, Macbeth could win. Of course, though, he wouldn't want to see Lady Macbeth's reaction if this were to happen, so he would just let her win rather than face her wrath.
    3. On a football team, Lady Macbeth would not be a player, but rather, the coach because that would allow her to order people around without questioning. She would get to decide strategies and create plans. Macbeth would also not be an actual player, but a cheerleader, because he'd be having to act in cooperation with the team and, moreover, Lady Macbeth's strategy. (I'm sorry, I know nothing about football!)

  13. If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were stranded on an island, I think Macbeth would be the first to die. The reason being that Lady Macbeth has an exceptional skill in persuasion, forcing him to do things he hadn't originally would have done. She would either drive him mad with her words or kill him in a murderous rage with her own bare hands. She is very forceful to say the least!

If the couple were to enter in a pie eating contest, to be honest I'm not sure who would win! Macbeth might if Lady Macbeth was feeling particularly lady-like or damsel-in-distress that day but, if she had something to prove or wanted to she would win!

If there were such a thing as football during Macbeth and Lady Macbeth's time, Lady Macbeth would be the coach calling and planning all the plays since all through the play you can see that she is the choice maker of the two. Macbeth would be the quarter back making all the amazing plays that the coach aka Lady Macbeth ordered, more or less her servant doing all his “queen” demanded.

  14. If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were stranded on a desert island, there is no doubt that Macbeth would end up dying first. The reason for this is because Lady Macbeth is truly a disloyal person and if it came down to it I know that she would have no problem killing her husband if it increased her legitimacy of survival.

If the male and female Macbeths' were having a pie eating contest I predict that Lady Macbeth would get her way and win. She seems to be a very persistent lady, so this tells me that if she wants to win this pie eating contest she will most definitely arrange a plan to do so.

Now if Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were on a football team, Lady Macbeth would be the quarterback and Macbeth would be the kicker. This role would suit the Lady because she is the one that truly creates and tells the team the game plan. Though when it comes to Macbeth, he is more the one that kicks off the ideas that are relayed to him, though at the same time still trying to gain points.

  15. 1. If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were stranded on a desert island, Macbeth would die before Lady Macbeth. As Savannah said, Macbeth is prone to hallucinations and as Lady Macbeth said, “too full o’ the milk of human kindness” to do what it takes to survive (Shakespeare 1.5.17). Whereas, Lady Macbeth has the instincts to know what she must do to survive in a “survival of the fittest” situation, which may require her to resort to eating her own husband.

    2. If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were to enter a pie-eating contest, Macbeth would win because he works up enough appetite between his battle experiences and stress due to his guilt, that eating obscene amounts of a comfort food would not be a far stretch. Unlike Lady Macbeth, who would attempt to maintain her lady-like appearance only to strike at any moment for something more worth while in her mind.

    3. If Lady Macbeth were on a football team, she would not be a player but rather the coach, as she calls all the plays and makes all the decisions, but has players to follow through with the plan for her. Macbeth, however, would be the quarterback due to his leadership capabilities and the respect that others have or once had for him.

  16. 1. If Lady Macbeth and Macbeth were to be stranded on an island Macbeth would die first. After a few days of barley struggling along, the conversation and plot would probably sound something like this:
LM: Macbeth, my dearest husband, does’t thou love me?
M: I love thee as the sun loves the moon.
LM: Then you must sacrifice your life so that I may live!
    M: What?
LM: Give me your food or let me end your death quickly by stabbing you!
    After much debate and convincing…
M: Fine. I will but not now. I think that we are near to be rescued my love.
    LM: Then it’s settled then.
That night, Lady Macbeth murders her husband that way she can have his food, and probably to eat his flesh. It just sounds like something she would do!

    2. In the case that Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were to enter a pie eating contest, I think that they would enter as a team. Lady Macbeth would be almost the cheerleader and stratigizer. She would encourage Macbeth but she would also stratagize the most efficient way to eat the pies and how to distract the other competitors.

    3. I don't understand football at all so I am going to put this into terms of non-American football. Normal football. The rest of the world's football. (Soccer for those of you who are soccer-illiterate and if you finally understood the soccerpart just now, you and I need to have a serious talk as soccer is my life.) On a soccer team, Lady Macbeth would be the forward because she is always attacting yet she is a very smart player. Macbeth would be the rest of the team because he is doing all of the work for Lady Macbeth and he's almost a scapegoat for her.

  17. If lady macbeth and Macbeth were trapped on an island I think like savannah said Macbeth would be really out of it and like with the murder couldn't handle the situation he was in so his mind would basically shut down. But on the other hand I think lady Macbeth can walk the walk but can't talk the talk. So she just has Macbeth do everything for her. So if she was in this situation and had to fend for herself she couldn't handle it. If they were in a pie eating contest I think lady Macbeth would win because she comes off to me as a very competitive soul. So if she was in a situation where she isn't the best at something her competitive instincts will kick in and she will do everything in her power to win. With my lacking knowledge of football positions I would have to say that Macbeth would be a line backer because he is more of a follower person and listens to what people tell him. He reminds me of a line backer (Macbeth) because line backers protect the quarter back (the king). If lady Macbeth was a football player I picture her as a quarter back because she is more of a forceful person who like things her way and everybody follows around her, like the quarter back.

    ReplyDelete
  18. If the situation were to come up that Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were somehow trapped on a desert island, I believe that Macbeth would die first. There are many ways he could die, but I believe that the most likely would be that Lady Macbeth would kill him and no one would know of the crime. Also, I believe that she would tell Macbeth to do so many things and force him into so much work that he would die of exhaustion. If the very rare occasion that Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were to get into a pie-eating contest, I believe that Lady Macbeth would win, I mean come on, doesn’t it always end up that the little skinny girl wins the eating contest? Everybody thinks that Macbeth would win so I think it would be the total opposite and be Lady Macbeth just to throw everyone off. If they just magically started playing football, I think that Lady Macbeth would be a center because the center puts the ball in play and in many ways I believe that’s what Lady Macbeth does, she starts the action and, “puts the ball in play”. Macbeth I believe would be a quarterback because he the one that really puts everything in to action. Without Macbeth, we wouldn’t have a story and also, we would still have a king!

    ReplyDelete
  19. If Lady Macbeth and Macbeth were both stranded on an island, I hypothesize that Macbeth would be killed first. Yes; not just die first, but be killed first. Like in Lord of the Flies, the boys became savages. Lady Macbeth seems like the kind of senile person to stab Macbeth while he is sleeping because hunger would overtake her mind. Remind you of anything? In Macbeth, the book, even though Macbeth is the one that stabs King Duncan in his sleep, Lady Macbeth was the one who came up with the plan in the first place.
However, if they both entered a pie eating contest, Macbeth would probably win. Lady Macbeth is evil and conniving, but, based on the text, would probably not want to pig out in front of a bunch of other people. She is the kind of person to want to hide to fact that she likes to eat. Macbeth, on the other hand, is not afraid to put himself out there. Eating a dozen pies in front of a large crowd would be nothing and he would not care of the fool he was making of himself.
I really can't imagine either characters on a football field, better yet actually playing any football at all and I have no sense of football positions, but if I had to select a good position for Macbeth, I'd say that he would be a good line backer. Aren't line backers the people that look out for whomever is their quarter backs? Well, Lady Macbeth would be the quarter back (making her own decisions) and Macbeth (line backer) would keep an eye on her just like he does int the book. Lady Macbeth is only concerned for herself, is aways weighing the options she has, and is basically the entire reason you go to see a football game in the first place. She is the star of her own show. If I were a football coach, though, I would not want to have either on my team.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Macbeth would surely die first because Lady Macbeth would convince him that it was his duty as her husband to save her. Also, I think that Macbeth loves her and he would do anything to save her. Or, Lady Macbeth would somehow find a rusty spoon and murder him in cold blood for food. (She is really crazy).
Again, Lady Macbeth would win out due to Macbeth's loyalty to her and she would find a way to cheat. Macbeth would put up a good fight though.
If the Macbeth's were on a football team, Lady Macbeth would be the quarterback, and Macbeth would be the wide receiver.Like Lady Macbeth, the quarterback takes charge of the field while letting the linebackers and receivers do the real dirty work. Macbeth would be a receiver because he always does what Lady Macbeth needs him to do without question, and he is willing to take her ideas(the pass), and put them into action(run with them so to speak).

    ReplyDelete
  21. 1. In the event that Macbeth and Lady Macbeth found themselves stranded on a deserted island, Lady Macbeth would most definitely survive longer. This is because she has an eerie control over Macbeth with her words, and would probably get him to care to her needs by sacrificing his own. In addition, Macbeth has core beliefs that tell him to be caring, honorable, and selfless (like any tragic hero), causing him to give himself up to allow his wife to survive.
    2. Macbeth would probably win the pie-eating contest because of his attributes of ambition, bravery, and great willpower. These traits would allow him to persist, even if he had doubts, such as becoming obese. On the other hand, Lady Macbeth would probably not even attempt to win, as she would simply freeload off of Macbeth's winnings. She prefers not to be under the spotlight, but have the pleasures without the downsides of glory.
    3. On a football team, Lady Macbeth would be the quarterback, while Macbeth would be her go-to receiver. Being the quarterback, she would get to run the show, and direct the actions of Macbeth. He would be her most trusted receiver who ran the routes and scored the touchdown on behalf of the Lady Macbeth. In the bigger picture, she would get the all the spoils of the win, while Macbeth would be blamed if he dropped the catch and lost the game.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I think this is a funny topic. We all think Macbeth would die first but I'll contradict the norm and vote Lady Macbeth to die first. I don't think she really truly loves Macbeth like a wife should. She wouldn't be able to stand living alone with him on an island and I think she would go and drown herself. Then Macbeth would do the same. I also think Lady macbeth would win the pie contest. For goodness sakes she asked to be "un-sexed!" I think she could eat way more pies. She appears friendly but has a vicious heart. That viciousness would make her do anything to win. I know absolutely nothing about football so who knows if this even makes sense! I think Lady Macbeth would play quarter-back, because she is a leader, and is a fearless human. Macbeth on the other hind would probably play part of the offensive line. The quarter back tells them what to do and they do it. Lady macbeth sets up Duncan's murder, and Macbeth does the dirty work.

    ReplyDelete
  23. 1) If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were stranded on an island, I think that Macbeth would be the first to perish because he completely listens to Lady Macbeth, but is not as strong willed. She would probably either work him to death or kill him for not being enough of a man. She exhibits somewhat of a scary amount of control over Macbeth, and he will pretty much do whatever she tells him to. Macbeth also does not seem like the type that would survive on an island, as he is not smart enough.
    2) If both of the Macbeth couple entered a pie- eating contest, I think that Macbeth would win out of his pure brawn characteristics. Lady Macbeth may be smarter and better at planning, Macbeth is better with physical challenges and things that have to do with force or winning. He has more of the attributes of the worker bee, rather than the queen bee, and the worker bee takes all the commands and does all of the work of the queen bee of the hive (Lady Macbeth). Therefore he will win the contest.
    3) When the Shakespeare football team is finally formed, Macbeth will play quarterback, while Lady Macbeth is out on the sidelines as the coach. On a football team, the players cannot win or even do anything without a good coach, and the same goes for the Macbeth/ Lady Macbeth relationship. It seems that Macbeth cannot do anything without Lady Macbeth. In a way the coach and the quarterback also rely on each other, as do the Macbeth couple. However, the coach still gives the calls while the quarterback listens and does it.

  24. If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were stranded on an island than I think that Macbeth would die first. I think this because as proven by the story Macbeth is as Lady Macbeth explains filled with the milk of human kindness. So I think that Macbeth wouldn't be the type to if needed turn into this barbaric hunter and do what is needed to survive. Lady Macbeth on the other hand would asks the demons to turn her into a dark creature and she would be willing to kill whatever it must be (even Macbeth) to survive. So in the end I feel like Macbeth would either be manipulated into doing something causing death by Lady Macbeth, starving to death or Lady Macbeth killing him.

Now as far as a pie eating contest I think that Macbeth would win with out a doubt. Based on the text It seems like to me Lady Macbeth would even if she loved eating pie and beat Macbeth would keep that concealed and maintain her lady like appearance. Macbeth on the other hand would eat pies for days after all the battles and all the guilt inside of him. Also I think after being humiliated by Lady Macbeth calling him a big baby and not a man this would be his time to "show his manliness". Also when Macbeth desires to do something he does not back out, he would win through sheer determination.

Oh man I would love to see Macbeth and Lady Macbeth play football and just get hit so hard hahahaha. But as far as the positions they would play I think although how small and fragile Lady Macbeth looks she would make a great center. I think she would make a great center because she is great at making plans so she would be great for coordinating the line to block for the quarter back. Also just like during the planning and murder of King Duncan she protected and made sure nothing happened to Macbeth. So with Lady Macbeth as center I think Macbeth would be the quarter back. Macbeth would make a good quarter back because he is great at taking orders just like Lady Macbeth was able to talk him into killing Duncan. Also he obviously loves being in charge instead of taking orders as shown in the book when he kills Duncan because he fills like he would be a better king. So quarter back would be perfect because he would call the shots on the field and he's determined enough to make tough decisions and passes when needed. Together they could beat any team just like in the book they were able to kill Duncan and get away with it due to Lady Macbeth's brilliant planning and Macbeth's ability to execute that plan.

  25. I think that if Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were stranded on an island Lady Macbeth would die first. He wouldn’t be able to handle the stress of being stuck and Lady Macbeth would probably kill him anyways because she selfish and she doesn't care who she hurts to get what she wants. However before Lady Macbeth would kill Macbeth she would get everything she needs and or wants from him. He is a very weak spirit therefore he would not be able to kill.

Macbeth would win in a pie eating contest between the two because he is the one that does the dirty work. Lady Macbeth d make him eat all of the pies so they could both get the glory and prize. She says jump and he says how high.

If they were football players I believe Macbeth would be a quarterback because they do most of the tackling and dirty work for the rest of the team. They also get the plan in motion. Lady Macbeth would be a tight end because they just stand off the the side of the tackle.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I believe that in the first and third of these situations, Lady Macbeth would prevail. If she and Macbeth were stranded on a desert island, Macbeth would die first. They would eventually start arguing which would soon spiral out of control. Lady Macbeth is a predator and it would just be a matter of time before her instincts would take over and she would kill Macbeth. As for the pie eating contest, a guy can almost always eat more than a girl. Macbeth would win just by eating more at a faster pace. On a football team Lady Macbeth would be the quarterback. A quarterback calls the plays that would be executed. Macbeth would be the receiver because they just run where the quarterback tells them to. In Shakespeare's play "Macbeth", Lady Macbeth is the leader and Macbeth is the follower. Overall Lady Macbeth would be more successful than Macbeth would.

    ReplyDelete
  27. If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were stranded on a desert island, I think Macbeth would almost certainly die first. Based on the fact that we all know Lady Macbeth is ruthless and crazy, and would bash her child’s brains out, I think she would be either directly or indirectly involved in Macbeth’s death. If involved directly, she would probably murder him in his sleep either to eat him (if there was not enough food), or just to get rid of him. If in the more likely case of being indirectly involved, she would probably get to Macbeth’s mind and beg him to do something to help them survive, but the situation would probably be very dangerous, and Macbeth would most likely end up dead.
If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth both entered a pie-eating contest, I think that Macbeth would win because he is a strong, fierce warrior and a relentless character. He would view the pie as his adversary and could easily finish before Lady Macbeth.
If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were both on a football team, they would be a dastardly duo. I think that Lady Macbeth would be the star quarterback because she makes the plans and is a motivating force that ensures that those plans are carried out exactly as she intends. I believe that Macbeth would be the running back because he makes Lady Macbeth’s plans happen, and instead of putting deep thought into plans, he literally and figuratively “runs” with them.

  28. If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were stranded on a desert island Macbeth would die first. Macbeth already has been through a lot emotionally. He already has killed the King and two innocent guards. Also he is going crazy from the deaths and is hallucinating. Macbeth would either die from Lady Macbeth eating him or trading to someone for her own safety, or Macbeth would die of insanity. If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were in a pie eating contest then Macbeth would win. He would only be doing the contest because Lady Macbeth forced him to though. She wouldn’t want to be seen stuffing pie down her face, but she does want the grand prize. Macbeth would do it for her because he wants to be the man in the family and get his wife whatever she wants. Lady Macbeth would be the quarterback if she were on a football team because she likes to call the plays or the things that Macbeth will do. She likes to rule the “field” in their marriage. Macbeth would be the wide receiver because the wide receivers job is to catch the ball from the quarterback get it down the field or a touchdown. Macbeth is the one who carries out the horrid deed of killing King Duncan, the play that the “quarterback” called.

  29. Considering how selfish Lady Macbeth is, I believe that Macbeth would be the first to die. Also, knowing how manipulative she is, Macbeth would probably be doing all of the work to protect her and provide for her while she does nothing. Looking back at the murder of Duncan, Lady Macbeth only came up with the idea and she made Macbeth do all of the work.
If the two were in a pie eating contest I think that Macbeth would win. She seems quite civilized towards others in the book, even though what she's truly like. As I mentioned before, she lets Macbeth do all of the dirty work. I don't think she really would do anything that would make her look bad.
If the couple were on a football team, then i think that Macbeth would be he receiver while Lady Macbeth would be the quarterback. Generally, the quarterback gives the orders as to which play to do. As a receiver, Macbeth gets told what to do, then does the works and often gets 'attacked' or tackled.

  30. I think that if Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were stranded on a desert island, Macbeth would die first. He would die first because Lady Macbeth would refuse to be the one to die and would demand he be the "man" by letting her live. She would make an evil scheme to take him out and then live until she was rescued or died. She has a creepy vibe that resignates off her and makes me think she would never give up and would fight until she was the last one standing. Of course she is insane so who knows what would happen!

If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were to enter a pie eating contest I think Macbeth would win because he can probably fit a lot more food in his stomach then dainty, little Lady Macbeth. I think she would be the one urging him on to eat more, even if he was in tons of pain and about to puke. Lady Macbeth forces Macbeth to do all the dirty work while she stands aside and watches.

If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were on a football team Macbeth would be the quarter back and Lady Macbeth would be the center. Lady Macbeth would be the center because she makes the plans and makes sure that nothing happens to the quarter back and protects him. She doesn't do any of the dirty work but watches from the side lines after the play is made. Macbeth would be the quarter back because he excecutes the plan and passes the ball when needed. Macbeth likes to have some charge over what is happening on the field but lets Lady Macbeth boss him aorund and set out the play.

  31. I think Macbeth would die first on a desert island. Knowing Lady Macbeth she’d probably give him unclean water or just stab him so that she could be sure to get plenty of food for herself. But then again, maybe being stranded would cause Macbeth to come to his senses, realize his wife is a CRAZY PERSON, and get rid of her. But I doubt it.

If they were in a pie-eating contest, Macbeth would win. We all know too well what Macbeth is capable of when his manhood is being questioned. If he will murder someone, I definitely think he would be willing to scarf down some delicious desert. The prospect of being beaten by his wife would push him to do anything.

As for football, I’m going to be honest. I really don’t know much in the way of official positions. But I think Lady Macbeth would play something like the kicker. She doesn’t really put herself in harm’s way all that much. But when she’s needed, she goes out to do her thing, and it’s really important. Macbeth would play a tackler person (I know. Fail). He tries to be all manly and go out and eliminate the problems and the things in the way of his ultimate goal.

  32. Lady Macbeth and Macbeth stuck together on an island? Macbeth would be dead within days. If there was no way of obtaining food on the island, Macbeth would probably die of forced manual labor or from cannibalism. I'm sure The Lady could not be bothered to do any work for herself or let herself perish from starvation. And eating Macbeth wouldn't be a bad thing, curse her pure white heart! And if they so happened to end up in a pie eating contest, I don't think either would win because Lady Macbeth would probably not want to be seen as the kind of woman who engaged in those sorts of thing, and Macbeth would not even attempt without gaining the approval of his wife! A football team containing Lady Macbeth and Macbeth would have Macbeth playing the running back and Lady Macbeth as the quarterback who would get the plans in motion then hand them off to the running back who would always be there to do the dirty work and pick up all the slack the other team left behind.

  33. If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were stranded on an island, I would imagine Lady Macbeth would be the first to go. I believe that Macbeth would live beyond her because he has shown that once he has a desire in sight, he is extremely persistent and not willing to lose or fail. I would assume that Macbeth would have the desire to live, so he would be very motivated to live. Macbeth is also stronger than Lady Macbeth and with the crazy things he's done while in the trance of desire, he might even kill Lady Macbeth for food. Lady Macbeth has also proven to be very insane, which would prove to be a major disadvantage while on an island.
If Lady Macbeth and Macbeth were competing in a pie eating contest, I would think that Macbeth would definitely win. Lady Macbeth maybe smarter than Macbeth, however when it comes to cramming food down your throat, I would assume Macbeth's big, tough character would allow him to down a much greater amount of pie than Lady Macbeth.
If Lady Macbeth and Macbeth were to play on a football team, to me their positions would be very obvious. Lady Macbeth would definitely be the quarterback because of her great thinking and planning ahead. She also has a way of having no fear and just getting the job done. Macbeth on the other hand just follows orders and does everything Lady Macbeth tells him to, so I would imagine he would play as an offensive lineman. Macbeth would play this position because offensive linemen don't have to think much, they are just told to block and they block the other linemen.

  34. Totally with you Rachael! Macbeth and Lady Macbeth stranded on an island is the short straw for Macbeth. He'd die by his own hand because he wouldn't be able to live with himself killing his "master" in the king. Lady Macbeth, meanwhile, would go into complete survival mode and probably eat the carrion of Macbeth, use his bones as weapons to kill anything else on the island, and be able to live a very prominent life on the island for a while. If they were both entered into a pie eating contest, Macbeth would probably win, only because his Lady would be seducing him in to eating as fast as he can to win, causing her to lose. The football one's a little tougher, but Macbeth would probably be the quarterback and Lady Macbeth would be the head coach. Lady Macbeth only relays all the plays (or plans) to Macbeth, the quarterback, to run. She never really does any on-the-field things, but Macbeth executes all the plays.

  35. If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were stuck on an island I believe that Macbeth would be the first to die. When they first get stuck on the island Macbeth and Lady Macbeth would originally be all over each other. Lady Macbeth would send Macbeth on long trips to go pick apples and oranges while she spends time planning a master plot to kill him and eat him (she's obviously crazy!). One day Macbeth makes the long, hard journey to the other side of the island and when he comes back he discovers that Lady Macbeth is gone. After hours of searching he begins to cry and he begins to lament. He returns back to the camp that they have created and drinks some of the water they have saved. After drinking the water he begins to hallucinate (like Macbeth in the book) and sees the three witches. The witches predict that he will die if he doesn't find his beloved Lady Macbeth. He runs around the island but cannot find her. When he returns he discovers that all of the water and the apples and oranges have disappeared. He overreacts and desperately drinks salt water from the ocean. He believes that the salt water is good for him and so he drinks more. The next day Macbeth is dead on the beach (yes salt water actually can kill you) and Lady Macbeth returns to collect, or rather eat, her prize.

If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were in a pie eating contest I would predict Macbeth to win because of his massive build. However the craziness starts with a rather unfortunate poker game where Macbeth loses all of his money to Banquo and still has more to pay. Instead of making him return home to get his money Banquo says that his debt will be paid off if he and Lady Macbeth enter a pie eating contest. Macbeth is at first very reluctant to the idea and insists that he go home and bring more money. However, he warms up to the idea since he is quite a big eater and Lady Macbeth is quite an eater herself. The annual pie eating contest is conveniently the next day and Lady Macbeth and her husband wake up early to begin the pie massacre. Lady Macbeth and Macbeth take their places as the judge (A.K.A. the drunk porter we had encountered earlier on in the book). The contest begins and Macbeth cows down on the pies. He looks over to Lady Macbeth who is trying to find a weakness in the pie's morale, such as it's masculinity. She finds out that the pie has no weakness and begins to eat it. She starts too late as Macbeth, who is much larger and stronger, devours the last of his pies. The porter proclaims that the kingdom has a winner and gives Macbeth the grand prize, 2 tickets to the relatively new play entitled Hamlet.

If for some odd reason Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were drafted onto a football team Lady Macbeth would be the quarterback and Macbeth would probably play someone that tackles the other team's offense (I'm sorry I don't know anything about other football positions, I'm a soccer player). Lady Macbeth is the quarter back because she is really the brains behind the operation. She is "the man behind the curtain" because she is the person who pulls the strings of Macbeth to make him do what she wants. In football the quarter back must decide where the ball will be passed to and if he is successful then they're team could get a touchdown. Macbeth is "the tackler" because he is the brawn behind everything. He uses his strength and authority to push people to the ground (like in football). He makes sure the area is safe so the quarterback (Lady Macbeth) can throw a pass to a wide receiver.

  36. 1- If both MacBeth and Lady MacBeth were on an island, I think that MacBeth would be the first to die. Lady MacBeth has clearly showed how much power and authority she has over MacBeth and could convince him to sacrifice his life for her. I think that she will convince MacBeth that he need to die for her so she can cook him and eat him to survive.
2- I think Lady MacBeth would win because she seems very competitive and wanting the best of anything for herself. Also, she would most likely win because she has demonstrated that she is not following the traditional house wife rules and guidelines.
3- If MacBeth and Lady MacBeth were on a football team, I think that Lady MacBeth would be the offense because throughout MacBeth so far, she is always thinking ahead and thinking about how she can be one step ahead and cause everyone else to trip up. MacBeth will most likely be the defense because in the beginning of the book, he is showed as defending King Duncan and that is what he has done best.

  37. If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were on a deserted island, I would have to say that Macbeth would be the first to go. I think that he would be killed by his wife, because it seems as if Lady Macbeth always puts her own interests first, not her poor deluded husband. However, I think that she would definitely off him in a sneaky way that would still allow her to keep her "purity", like "accidentally" pushing him off a mountain, or "accidentally" dropping a coconut on his head.
If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were in a pie-eating contest, I believe Macbeth would easily win. Macbeth is a man, for starters. Lady Macbeth is much too dainty to do any kind of work for herself, let alone stuffing pies in her face. I would think that while Macbeth is eating pies like they'res no tomorrow, Lady Macbeth would have already paid off someone to put something nasty in Macbeth's pies, or someone master pie-eater to win the contest for her.
Honestly, when it comes to football, I'm a little better than clueless... however, I think that Lady Macbeth would play some position that lets her have control and call the shots without breaking a nail. So I would have to say that Lady Macbeth would be the coach, and Macbeth would be some player that gets tackled a lot. My brother says that it's the quarterback, so that's what I'm going with.

  38. If Macbeth and his wife were stranded on an island, Macbeth would certainly be the first to go. Unlike her husband, Lady Macbeth has no problem killing people for her own personal gain. Macbeth is more of an altruist and doesn’t believe in murder, the only reason he really killed the king was because he was warped by Lady Macbeth. However, if Macbeth and his wife entered a pie eating contest I believe Macbeth would win, simply because Lady Macbeth would never be there in the first place. Like Lady Macbeth said, her husband is used to being amongst kind people and trusts easily, so a pie eating contest is a friendly competition and there is no huge reward if you did win. If they were on a football team I think that Lady Macbeth would be a skinny little linebacker, but one that can run over anyone and is one of the most vicious on the team. Macbeth would simply be a quarterback, very loyal to his team and everyone loves him. But he can be easily told what to do by his fellow team members.

  39. If Lady Macbeth and Macbeth were stranded on an island it's clear that Macbeth would be the one to die. Lady Macbeth has a way of manipulating Macbeth into what she wants him to do. Therefore, Lady Macbeth would manipulate Macbeth into somehow killing himself to save his dear beloved wife. In order for Lady Macbeth to live after Macbeth is dead, she would then eat Macbeth knowing the sick twisted mind she has.
If it came down to a pie eating contest I would put my money on Macbeth. Although Macbeth is easily manipulated, he is very competitive and bestial. Lady Macbeth is always badgering Macbeth on his manhood. If it came down to the last pie, I know Macbeth would not let his lady conquer him.
To relate with what Cole said I agree with Macbeth being star quarterback and Lady Macbeth being head coach. Though Macbeth's questioning in whether he should murder King Duncan, Lady Macbeth was always "pep-talking" Macbeth into what he needs to do in order to steal the crown. Finally after all of Macbeth's motivational talks with Lady Macbeth and himself, he takes the dagger and shoves right in the king's chest.. Game gone well.

  40. If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were stranded on an island then I think that Macbeth would die first. I think this because I think Lady Macbeth would kill him and eat him if they were starving and running out of options to survive, then she would eat him. This is because she is nearly pure evil, and he just seems to be too nice of a guy to do this. If they entered a pie eating contest then Macbeth would win, but Lady Macbeth would try to cheat. If they were both on a football team then Lady Macbeth would be the quarterback because she seems to be in charge of everything. Macbeth would be the running back because symbolizes her giving him the ball (a.k.a. the dagger) to finish the game (a.k.a. Duncan’s life).

  41. First off, how did this couple end up on a desert island? They get to have vacation while I am in school? I am not really liking it!
However, if they where stranded on an island the longest, Macbeth would definitely die first. I am thinking Macbeth may die in some hunting accident, walk off a cliff, or be murdered in his sleep my the Lady Macbeth, starving for food after her husband has caught nothing.
In a pie eating contest held in classroom C11, Macbeth would be the victor. As in Act 2, Macbeth was thirsty for some blood. If he shows to be that thirsty for blood then he will be pounding down pie by the second.
On the starting line up for the Macbethville Slayers: At fullback, Macbeth. The mighty Macbeth willing to give it all on the battlefield, and not afraid to sacrifice his body on the field. A very loyal player who gives it all for the team manager King Duncan. Also in the line up Lady Macbeth at kicker. This 130lb. kicker is mostly a bench warmer and only used to help out here and there. She chose role as a kicker because she is not brave enough to actually do the dirty work.

  42. If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were stranded on a desert island the Macbeth would definitely be the first to go. He is easily used and manipulated by his wife, and f it came down to it, she would trick him into some sort of death trap, and use him for meat.

If MAcbeth and his wife were in a pie eating contest, then I think that Lady Macbeth would win. She is very power hungry which is showed by her pushing Macbeth to kill Duncan in order for him to become King, and she the Queen. I think that this hunger would transfer over into the pie eating contest, thus allowing her to win.

If they were on a football team together then Lady Macbeth would be the Quarterback and Macbeth would be the wide receiver. She is the head of the team, just like she is the head of their relationship, and she is able to make Macbeth go out for any play that will win the game, which in this case happens to be murdering King Duncan.

  43. First of all, Mrs. Smith, these are really really weird scenarios.

I think that Macbeth would die first because he wouldn’t have the guts to kill Lady Macbeth. He would probably sacrifice himself so that Lady Macbeth could survive because he is actually a brave and honorable man. I also think that he probably wouldn’t last look because he doesn’t usually do very well in pressured situations and I personally can’t think of a more pressured situation. I also think that Lady Macbeth would probably use Macbeth and try to stay alive the longest. Another alternative is that they happen to land on the island that Jack and ralph are stranded on. Jack would then kill both of them because he is kind of crazy.

If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were in a pie-eating contest I think that Macbeth would win because he wouldn’t want to lose to a girl, especially after she had just given him a “man-up” talk. I also think that he would probably be hungrier because he had just killed someone. I don’t know about you, but I would think that murder would make me really hungry.

If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were on a football team, Lady Macbeth would be the quarterback and Macbeth would be the wide receiver. Lady Macbeth would be the quarterback because she is the one who orders and instructs Macbeth on what to do. Macbeth would be the wide receiver because he is the one who follows the instructions and actually completes the task. I also have to say that they are going to be my top two players on my fantasy football team.

  44. If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were stranded on a desert island, Macbeth would die first. Surely, Lady Macbeth would find a way to manipulate Macbeth and call him "unmanly" for not being able to do some of the simplest things. Also, Lady Macbeth is very greedy and devious and she would, most likely, use that to her advantage.

In a pie eating contest, Macbeth would win because he has ambition and yearns to be the best and most powerful. I don't think Lady Macbeth would try to win at all because she is too much of an "innocent flower" and too lady-like.

On the football field, Macbeth would be the quarterback. This is because he is the star player and the whole team relies on him. He makes sure everything goes as planned. Lady Macbeth would be the coach because she makes the plans and encourages the team when they feel like they can't go on. She never actually carries out the plan herself.

  45. 1)If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were on an island then Macbeth would die first because Lady Machbeth would probaly convince him to kill himself by cutting up his body into pieces so that she could eat him.
    2) If they entered a pie eating contest then Lady Macbeth would win because she would convince Macbeth that real men dont stuff their face with pies.
    3) If they were on a football team together then Lady Macbeth would be the quarterback because she calls all the shots and Macbeth would be the water boy. Lady Macbeth would have put him in the most unpowerful position she could find as to not mess up her plans.

  46. Overall, I think these “match ups” between Lady Macbeth and Macbeth are very easy to choose the winner in. If the deranged couple were stranded on an island, I definitely believe Macbeth would be the first to die. Not only because Lady Macbeth is insane and would probably eat him when food runs out, but because Macbeth is the man in their relationship. They obviously do love each other; why else would Macbeth kill Duncan for her? Therefore, Macbeth would probably feed his wife before eating anything himself. In their time, men were supposed to be chivalrous and respect their wives. Not that they shouldn’t today. Therefore, I believe that Macbeth would be the first to die on a desert island from starvation or by cannibalism.
If Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were in a pie eating contest I believe Lady Macbeth would be victorious. During the story, she seems more of the aggressive one, therefore wanting to win the contest even more. Also, she would do anything to win. Cheating would never be out of the question for Lady Macbeth; after all, she is a lunatic.
What if Lady Macbeth and Macbeth were on a football team? That is an extremely tough question. I believe that Macbeth would be an offensive guard or center and Lady Macbeth would be the quarterback. As I stated before, Macbeth wants to protect his wife so obviously he would be on the offensive line blocking for her. I see Lady Macbeth as the quarterback, because again, she is aggressive. She would want to move the team up the field and into the end zone.

  47. Lady Macbeth would do anything to survive, even kill her husband. If she is willing to smash her baby’s head into the wall, she is willing to kill her husband for food. Macbeth is “too full o’ th’ milk of human kindness” (Shakespeare 1.5.16). He wouldn’t hurt Lady Macbeth, but she isn’t afraid to hurt him.
Lady Macbeth would win a pie eating contest because she would poison everyone’s else’s pie before they have a chance to finish first.
Lady Macbeth would not be on the team she was supporting, but instead she would be the water keeper on the enemy team. She would not give them clean and pure water, but instead drug them so they are slow and confused. Macbeth would be the running back because is given a job and does it without really thinking.
