- CSAP Practice packet due tomorrow with completed paragraph (topic sentence, 2 examples, concluding sentence)
- Pages 117-224 in 1984 with 2 Higher Level thinking questions
To prepare for tomorrow:
- DOL (grammar) quiz tomorrow [everyone can use their purple packets on every DOL test]
- Fishbowl tomorrow over 117-224 in 1984
Today, we reviewed the rest of the purple grammar packet over the clauses and sentence types, punctuation and capitalization, and the process of diagramming a sentence. We also finished analyzing the sentence, "their team will practice after school" with our new analyzing processes. After we finished with the sentence, we continued to ask questions about the CSAP practice packet and the paragraph that was included. We concluded that #4 is B.) and #6 is also B.). We also went over the meanings of literal and figurative. Literal is an exact meaning of a word and it is real with no inferring needed. Figurative is descriptive, using similes, metaphors, imagery, personification, and it is an indirect sentence which means it is open to interpretation. After all that was said and done, we concluded the day as a free read, paragraph writing, scribe sign up time. Then it was off to 6th hour. Have a terrific Thursday everyone!
