Today's class period began with the introduction of our next project: Tableaux Vivants. These "living pictures" are used in theater to recreate well-known pieces of art. In this case, the class will be creating Tableaux Vivants to reproduce pivotal scenes in Act 3 of Romeo and Juliet. We will form groups and begin preparations for the project tomorrow in class. Details are described on the handout that each student received in class today. Grammar followed thereafter and the class took time to identify sentence parts and phrases.
Once that was completed, Scenes 5 and 6 of Act 2 in Romeo and Juliet were read, preparing us for Act 3 tomorrow. In groups of 2-3, everyone then completed the Act 2 quiz. The day ended with a viewing of the balcony scene in the classic film version of Romeo and Juliet.
The homework is as follows: Wikified Research Paper Conferences and Tableaux Vivant (due Thursday, March 15)
Have a great evening, everyone!
